City offices, including the Civic Center, Great Falls Public Library, Community Recreation Center, Natatorium and the Animal Shelter will be closed on Thursday, December 25 and on Thursday, January 1, in observance of Christmas and New Year's Day holidays. Residential and commercial collection will take place one day later, following both holidays.  Both the Natatorium and Community Recreation Center will have varied hours over the holiday week.

Christmas is just days away and residents are reminded to shop local this holiday season.  According to the Advocates for Independent Business, for every $100 spent at a locally-owned business, $48 stays in the local economy compared to $14 when spent at a national chain. To make this holiday season even merrier, all downtown metered parking is free now through Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24 (including weekends and weekdays).

Christmas Tree Recycling

Did you know that live Christmas trees are biodegradable, which means they can be reused or recycled for other purposes? Great Falls residents are encouraged to recycle their live Christmas trees between December 26 – January 9 at five locations throughout the community.
