DON’T MISS THE FIRST ANNUAL
FALL FANTASY DOG SHOW
GREAT FALLS, Montana – Dog owners get ready to show off your pets! The Great Falls Animal Shelter is hosting the First Annual Fall Fantasy Dog Show on Saturday, October 27, from 1 - 3 p.m. at F & L Pet Resort (2500 17th St. N.E., Black Eagle). The event features eight different competitions that highlight your dog’s unique and special strengths and skills. Other activities include caricatures of your pet, photos with your dog, concessions and the opportunity to decorate a bandana for your pet. All proceeds from the event benefit the shelter’s Guardian Angel Fund, which assists with emergency veterinary care and the cost of spaying and neutering animals at the shelter. Participants will have the opportunity to meet Mayor Winters, who will be serving as the Master of Ceremonies and his dog Cookie.
Dogs and their owners can participate in up to eight class competitions throughout the day. Competitions include musical sit (just like musical chairs), mini me (do you look like your pet?), waggiest tail (for those dogs that just can’t stop wagging their tails), best hair (does your pet have the shiniest coat ever?), best biscuit catcher (for those pets who excel at snack eating), opposites attract/seeing double (for those dogs that look alike or not so much), best costume (go ahead, go all out for this one, you and your pet can both dress up for this competition) and the best up-coming contender (People’s Choice Award).
The cost is $4 per competition or $25 to participate in the all-day line-up if participants register before Friday, October 26! For those who procrastinate, the price goes up to $5 per competition for day-of registration. Don’t delay-sign up now.Registration packets and a detailed listing of each class category are available online at www.greatfallsmt.net/animalshelter , at the Animal Shelter (1010 25th Avenue NE) or the Civic Center (2 Park Drive South Room 4).
Don’t have a dog, but don’t want to miss out on the fun? Spectators as well as dog owners are encouraged to attend the event. For more information about the Fall Fantasy Dog Show contact Laura McElhinney, volunteer coordinator, at 564-3685.
