GREAT FALLS, Montana – In recognition of National Pit Bull Awareness Month the Great Falls Animal Shelter is offering free Bully Breed Training Sessions for you and your dog on Saturday, October 5. Two training sessions are being offered at F&L Pet Resort (2500 17th St. N.E.) at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  Class size is limited to 25 per class, so pre-registration is required. To register for the class call 406-564-3685 or email lmcelhinney [at] greatfallsmt [dot] net. Proof of vaccination is required. Trainers for the classes are from Petco and F&L Pet Resort.

Bully breeds can make excellent pets; just ask Nancy Loendorf co-owner of F&L Pet Resort, “Bully breeds are dogs that need a job to do and someone to snuggle with at day’s end.  Pound for pound they are a very devoted and loving pet, relying on you for the proper direction and training.”

Don’t have a bully breed or would you like to learn more about them? Stop by F&L Pet Resort throughout the day, the Electric City Pittie Committee will have information on bully breeds and will have a kissing booth on site! Adoptable bully breeds will also be available on Saturday. Training aids and other pet items will be available for sale.

For more information about the Bully Breed Training Sessions, contact Laura McElhinney, Volunteer Coordinator, at 406-564-3685.
