FREE BULLY BREED DOG TRAINING THIS WEEKEND
ONLY A FEW SPOTS LEFT!

GREAT FALLS, Montana – There are still a few spots left at this weekend’s free Bully Breed Training Sessions being offered by the Great Falls Animal Shelter. Two training sessions are being offered for you and your dog, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, at F&L Pet Resort (2500 17th St. N.E.). Class size is limited to 25 per class, so pre-registration is required. To register for the class, call 406-564-3685. Proof of vaccination is required. Trainers for the classes are from Petco and F&L Pet Resort.

The training is being offered in recognition of National Pit Bull Awareness Month, which is a month of appreciation and education designed to change perceptions and stereotypes about bully breeds and their responsible owners. The goal is to develop positive communications and share experiences in communities in which bully breeds and their owners live.  For organizations like the Great Falls Animal Shelter, it’s an opportunity to continue to encourage responsible pet ownership and proper training.

Don’t have a bully breed, but are interested in learning more about them? Stop by F&L Pet Resort throughout the day. The Electric City Pittie Committee will have information on bully breeds and will have a kissing booth on site! Adoptable bully breeds will also be available on Saturday. Training aids and other pet items will be available for sale. Those who participate will receive buttons, bumper stickers and books on bully breeds.

For more information about the Bully Breed Training Sessions, contact Laura McElhinney, Volunteer Coordinator, at 406-564-3685.
