Throughout the country, over a million people - just like you are taking advantage of their Public Access Television Stations to build a sense of community in their neighborhoods. You too can learn how to use TV cameras, use lights, edit video-tape, and produce television programming for Great Falls!
| 1. | Start with an idea: | Are you part of a group that would like more participation....? Would you just like the community to know what your group is doing...? Are you an individual who has an idea for an interesting program...? Churches, youth groups, recreational groups, chambers of commerce, civic organizations, political groups, and individuals would make for excellent programming. |
| 2. | Contact Cable 7: | Once you have an idea for a program, stop wasting time and take action! Cable 7 is located on the second floor of the Civic Center, 2 Park Drive South. Our phone number is 761-8816. |
| 3. | When you call Cable 7, ask for their schedule of training classes, fees, and membership information. Then you can sign up for classes in running the camera, editing, and producing. Knowledgeable and patient instructors will provide you with the skills you need to produce your television program. Once you have mastered the basics, you are ready to produce your own television program. | |
| 4. | Produce your own community program: | Whether you choose to produce your program from the Cable 7 studio or check out the video equipment and create your own remote production, throughout the taping and editing of your program, friendly staff instructors will provide you with guidance and advice. |
| 5. | Promote your program and get others involved: | You can make sure people know about your program by promoting it in your group's newsletter, printing flyers, and announcing the airdate at meetings. This way, you can get more people involved with this terrific community resource! Once your program is completed the Cable 7 employees will distribute through their master control room to every cable subscriber in Great Falls and the surrounding areas. |
