INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE

15.5.010 Adoption
The International Property Maintenance Code, 2003 Edition, is adopted and incorporated by reference with the following amendments: Copies of the code are on file in the office of the City Clerk and are available for inspection. Copies may be obtained from the International Code Council, 4051 West Flossmoor Road, Country Club Hills, IL 60478 or their web site www.iccsafe.org.
- Subsection 101.1 Title. These regulations shall be known as the International Property Maintenance Code of The City of Great Falls, hereinafter referred to as “this code.”
- Subsection 102.3 Application of other codes. Amended to read as follows: Strike the title “International Zoning Code” and insert “City of Great Falls’ zoning ordinance.”
- Subsection 103.5 Fees. Strike the words “indicated in the following schedule” and replace with “set by City Commission resolution.”
- Subsection 110.4 Salvage Materials. Deleted.
- Subsection 201.3 Terms defined in other codes. Shall read as follows: “Where terms are not defined in this code and are defined in the International Building Code, Uniform Fire Code, Uniform Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code, International Existing Building Code or the National Electrical Code, such terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them as in those codes”.
- Subsection 302.4 Weeds. Shall read as follows: “All premises and exterior property shall be maintained free from weeds or plant growth in excess of eight (8”) inches. All noxious weeds shall be prohibited. Weeds shall be defined as all grasses, annual plants and vegetation, other than trees or shrubs provided; however, this term shall not include cultivated flowers and gardens.” Second paragraph is deleted.
- Subsection 302.8 Motor Vehicles. Deleted.
- Subsection 304.14 Insect Screens. Specify time period of May 1st to October 1st.
- Subsection 505.1 General. Strike reference to the “International Plumbing Code” and replace with “Uniform Plumbing Code.”
- Subsection 602.2 Residential occupancies. Shall read as follows: Dwellings shall be provided with heating facilities capable of maintaining a room temperature of 68°F (20°C) in all habitable rooms, bathrooms and toilet rooms. Cooking appliances shall not be used to provide space heating to meet the requirements of this section.
- Subsection 602.3 Heat supply. Every owner and operator of any building who rents, leases or lets one or more dwelling unit, rooming unit, dormitory or guestroom on terms, either expressed or implied, to furnish heat to the occupants thereof shall supply heat to maintain a temperature of not less than 68°F (20°C) in all habitable rooms, bathrooms, and toilet rooms.
