HAZMAT Team Responds to Suspicious Odor

CITY HAZMAT TEAM INVESTIGATING

SUSPICIOUS ODOR AT BNSF RAILYARD

                                 

GREAT FALLS, Montana – This afternoon at 1 p.m. the 911 Center received a call from BNSF employees regarding a suspicious odor coming from an empty tank car enroute to the Calumet Refinery. The City's HAZMAT  Team was dispatched to the site to investigate the odor and is currently still on seen.

A 150-perimeter has been established around the railcar, while the HAZMAT Team is on-site to determine if there are any leaks and check the valves on the tank. The public is being asked to stay away from the site at this time.
