SCHEDULED POWER OUTAGE IMPACTS CIVIC CENTER & OTHER CITY SERVICES
GREAT FALLS, Montana – The City would like to remind residents, that on Thursday, July 10, Northwestern Energy will be installing a new power pole and replacing the underground power lines to the area immediately adjacent to the Great Falls Civic Center. The installation requires that power be shut off to the impacted buildings. Due to the scheduled power outage, the Civic Center will be closed starting at 12 p.m. Without power employees at the Civic Center are unable to effectively perform the functions of their jobs and serve the public.
Outlying City facilities (Park and Recreation, Public Works, Animal Shelter, Community Recreation Center, etc.) will remain open, but will not have access to City servers during the power outage, which means those departments will not be able to receive and send emails or have the ability to take credit card payments. The golf courses, water park, parking garages, Passport Parking and the Animal Shelter will only be able to take cash during the scheduled power outage or until the servers and internet are back online.
The power outage does not affect public safety services and the 911 Center will be fully operational during the power outage.
