4TH OF JULY COMMUNITY CELEBRATION
GREAT FALLS, Montana – The 4th of July holiday is fast approaching! There are a number of events taking place that the whole family can enjoy including the Great Falls Municipal Band’s “Summer Celebration,” the annual 4th of July Parade and the community fireworks display.
The Great Falls Municipal Band will present a free "Summer Celebration" Concert on Thursday, July 3, in the Mansfield Convention Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. (concessions will be available) and pre-concert entertainment from Miss Linda’s Studio Centre will begin at 6 p.m. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature familiar patriotic selections and marches. For more information, contact Bud Nicholls at 231-4770. The Thursday concert will replace the regularly scheduled Wednesday concert in Gibson Park.
Don’t miss the 4th of July Parade! On Friday, July 4, grab your lawn chair and find your favorite viewing spot along the parade route. The parade begins at 11 a.m. sharp and the route runs from 1st Avenue South to 8th Street, north to Central Avenue and then heads west to Park Drive and disbands in Margaret Park (north of the Civic Center). Please do not park vehicles along the parade route. This year’s parade theme is Remember When..."Moments in U.S. History.” For more information about the parade contact Lola Galloway at 750-4721 or 727-4963
The “Fireworks Forever Fund,” organized by the People’s Park & Recreation Foundation, has collected donations throughout the year for this year’s fireworks display. Please show your appreciation by donating to the “Fireworks Forever Fund” during the parade. Donations can also be mailed to:

After the parade, cool off at the Electric City Water Park by surfing on the Flow Rider, sliding down the Power Tower Plunge, or just chillin’ in the Lazy River. Little ones can enjoy playing in the swimming pools or splashing in the Squirt Zone. There is fun for the entire family at the water park. The Electric City Water Park will be open from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Take the whole family to the community fireworks display on Friday, July 4. The best viewing of the community fireworks display will be at Elk’s-Riverside Park (River Drive North between 6th Street & 9th Street) and will begin at around 10:30 p.m. (when it gets dark) from West Bank Park. West Bank Park will be closed all day in order for the pyrotechnics to set up the display. Handicap parking will be available in the Farmers Union Building parking lot located on River Drive. Access to that parking lot will only be at Central Avenue West and River Drive.
As a reminder, leave your fireworks at home. As in previous years, no fireworks will be allowed in Elk’s-Riverside Park. The City of Great Falls wishes everyone a safe and happy 4th of July.
