City's New Website Goes Live on Friday

GREAT FALLS, Montana – The City of Great Falls will be rolling out a new website this week! The new user-friendly site goes live on Friday, March 2. The new site will not only provide a new look and feel it will also include easy to navigate pages and a number of enhanced features including an improved search engine, a comprehensive citywide calendar and a resource center with valuable information for residents.

In addition to the new look, residents will also have the ability to subscribe and receive updates when new information is added or changes have been made to the website. Information from the City’s website can also be “shared” via social media sites. According to Rachel Arms, the City’s Web Developer, “In less than six months, City staff and aHa Consulting have developed a website that is aesthetically pleasing, includes enhanced features and improves communication between the City and its citizens and visitors.”

In September 2011 the City hired aHa Consulting based out of Lake Oswego, Oregon to help design and develop the new website. The transition and training of City staff began in October 2011 and has involved a number of content managers who were responsible for creating their individual department web pages.

The new website will be hosted on a new server, so during the move there may be brief periods of time when the site is unavailable.
