Great Falls, Montana –The Great Falls Public Library announces the following summer events:
Art at the Library
In July the GFPL is hosting an art exhibit by local painter Kathryn Brekke and local potter Lisa Botte.
In August quilts by quilters from the Quilt-Away will be featured in the Great Falls Public Library.
Why Should Kids Have All the Fun?
The Great Falls Public Library continues its annual Adult Summer Reading program, Between the Covers, through August 14. This program highlights how reading opens up worlds both real and imaginary. Anyone 19 and older with a library card can participate. Library cards are FREE to anyone who lives in Cascade County. To get a card, bring in picture ID and proof of address.
Participation is simple. For every book read through August 14 participants will be able to submit an entry for a grand prize drawing, which will be held on Wednesday, August 15 at the Summer Reading final party. Entry forms will be available at the library. Prizes include a year’s worth of free downtown parking, a Sony e-reader, and a $50 gift certificate from Big Mouth Barbeque.
We will also hold drawings every two weeks for participants who submit correctly completely games and quizzes. Prizes will include extra-large book bags, t-shirts, and coffee mugs.
Patrons are also encouraged to submit their own brief book reviews. Staff approved reviews shall be posted in the lobby of the library. Interactive games and displays will also be featured, allowing participants to get more involved in the program.

Music in the Library Park
Come enjoy the sounds of local musicians this summer in a beautiful, relaxing park setting. The Great Falls Public Library is hosting the 12th annual Music in the Library Park Series in July and August. These programs are free and open to the public. Chairs are provided, but people are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets. In the event of inclement weather the music will move indoors. Brown Bag Lunch Series
The Great Falls Public Library is hosting a series of Brown Bag Lunch programs on Wednesdays in July and August in the Library Park behind the library from Noon to 1:00 PM. Programs are free and open to the public.
