Mobile Device Training @ GFPL

Great Falls, Montana – The Great Falls Public Library is hosting a free Mobile Device Training session at the library on Monday, August 6, from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. This training is provided by staff from the Montana State Library.

The workshop will teach users how to manage and navigate their handheld devices, how to download books and apps, how to access and change device settings and how to borrow digital library books from Montana Library 2 Go.

Those attending should bring their library card (it will be needed for downloading books). If they do not own a library card, getting one is a quick and simple process that can be completed bringing a picture ID and proof of address. Attendees should also bring their devices. These include any of the following: Nooks; Kindle e-ink; Kindle Fire; iPad or iPod; mp3 players; Smart phones; and laptop computers. Also, attendees should remember to bring their user name and passwords for Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or Apple accounts.

The workshop schedule is as follows:

  • Amazon Kindle e-Ink devices: 10 – 11:30 am
  • Amazon Kindle Fire: 12:30 – 2 pm
  • Barnes and Noble Nook Devices: 2:30 – 4 pm
  • iPad 4:30 – 6 pm

If you are unable to make a designated device time or do not see your specific device, simple drop-in when you can with your device. The assisting staff will do their best to provide assistance to all.
