Built in the 1930s, under the Works Progress Administration, the plush Mansfield Theater showcases its historic elegance through intricate architecture and acoustics that are unrivaled in the state. The intimate 1,785-seat venue is adaptable for concerts, ballet, grand opera, road shows, country and rock music spectaculars, musicals, stage productions, travelogues, conventions and lectures. The theater is also the home for the Great Falls Symphony and the Great Falls Community Concert Associations.
The theater is operated by City of Great Falls and coordinated through the Mansfield Events Office. Renovations that retain the architecture and historic authenticity of the era are constantly being done. Recent renovations include recovering of the theater seats, upgrading of the sound and lighting systems, refinishing of the stage floor, installation of a cooling system, as well as remodeling of dressing rooms.
The Mansfield Events Office coordinates theater production support – from backstage technical staff to front of house management and complete box office services. The office also coordinates the Mansfield Theater volunteer usher program.
