Race Information


Sprint Race | Youth Race

Both races include swimming, cycling, and running events.
BIKE HELMETS ARE MANDATORY.


Sprint Race:

Open Warm-ups: 6:00-6:30 a.m.
Start Time: 7:00 a.m.*
Age Categories: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & up

* Start Time is based on an accurate 500M swim time. Qualifying time for the 500 M swim is 20 minutes or less. Seed time for swimming will be slowest to fastest.

This race is limited to 300 athletes.

The Course

SWIM

500 meter swim, 6 lanes, 50 M outdoor pool with lane markers. Limit 4 athletes per lane.

BIKE

12.4 miles. Out of transition area to River Drive South, turn left and follow River Drive to Lower River Road and follow that for 6.2 miles. At the top of Eden hill turn around and follow same course back to transition area. Bike is fast and flat with exception of Eden Hill which is a moderate climb for about a mile. BIKE HELMET IS REQUIRED! You will not be allowed to leave the Bike Transition Area without a helmet. Road bikes are recommended, but mountain bikes are acceptable.

RUN

3 miles. Out of transition to River Drive South, cross River Drive South following paved walking path under Central Ave West along the River to River Drive North. Run north for approximately ¼ mile and turn right towards Railway Skate Park and tunnel. Run through the tunnel, make 1½ laps on the Gibson Park Running Trail, and back to the finish line the same way you ran out. The course is flat and fast with beautiful scenery the entire way. Spectators can gather at Gibson Park to watch head to head competition all visible throughout the park. Run route map (image)

 


Youth Race (14 & Under)

Start Time: Approximate start time will be posted August 7th
Age Categories: 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14

Race limited to 150 athletes

The Course

SWIM

Kids age 10 & under — 50 meter swim, Kids age 11-14 — 100 meter swim, 6 lanes, 50 M outdoor pool with lane markers. Limit 2 athletes per lane.

BIKE

3 miles. 1.5 miles out and back. Bikers leave transition area and cycle to River Drive South, cross River Drive South to the bike path and ride under Central Avenue West and follow the marked bike path across Central Avenue West Bridge heading west towards West Bank Park. Riders will turn right on the West Bank Park bike path and continue staying to the right of way until they reach the turnaround circle at 1.5 miles.

BIKE HELMET IS REQUIRED! You will not be allowed to leave the Bike Transition Area without a helmet. Road bikes are recommended, but mountain bikes are acceptable.

RUN

1 mile. 0.5 miles out and back. Runners will leave transition area and cross River Drive South. Runners will turn right on the far side of the street and run across the South Side of Central Avenue West Bridge until Bay Drive and then make a left. Runners will run to 0.5 mile marker and turn around and run same course back.
