CITY OF GREAT FALLS EXPERIENCES
EMERGENCY POWER OUTAGE

GREAT FALLS, Montana – The City of Great Falls experienced a power outage earlier this morning Saturday, December 7, at 4 a.m. affecting portions of the Fox Farm area of town.  The outage was caused by the extreme cold temperatures; the National Weather Service in Great Falls reported temperatures of -34 degrees this morning.  Northwestern Energy worked on the issue to bring power back on soon as possible.

City and County officials activated the Emergency Operations Center this morning to evaluate the issue and to develop a plan of action in the event residents would need to be assisted.

The City will continue to monitor the situation in the likelihood another power outage may occur and will notify the community accordingly. To prepare for a future power outage or emergency, residents are asked to visit the City's website, http://www.greatfallsmt.net/fire/emergency-preparedness for  emergency preparedness information.
