2012 MONTANA FIREFIGHTERS TESTING CONSORTIUM

GREAT FALLS, Montana – Great Falls Fire Rescue is pleased to announce that they will be hosting the annual firefighter’s employment test in Great Falls at the Expo Park, June 4-7. Nearly 500 applicants have signed up to take the test and find out if they have what it takes to be a professional Montana firefighter.

The Montana Firefighters Testing Consortium (MFTC) was officially formed in 1997 when five of Montana’s municipal fire departments agreed to conduct joint firefighter candidate testing. The MFTC has proven to be a cost effective and efficient means of testing future firefighters for participating fire departments. The MFTC creates a pool of qualified applicants for the position of entry-level firefighter for participating departments.

Since 1997 participation within the Consortium has grown. Current participating departments within the MFTC includes: Big Sky Fire Department; Billings Fire Department; Bozeman Fire Department; Butte Fire Department; Great Falls Fire/Rescue; Helena Fire Department; Lockwood Rural Fire District; Miles City Fire Department; Missoula Fire Department and Missoula Rural Fire District.

The local media is invited to attend the testing process at 10 a.m. on Wednesday June 6, 2012 at the Expo Park. For more information about this year’s Firefighter’s Testing Consortium contact Steve Hester, Assistant Fire Chief at 727-8070.
