From the Neighborhood Coordinator’s Desk

The Great Falls Neighborhood Councils will be meeting as per their winter schedules.  All changes in January will be noted in bold below.

Neighborhood Council meetings are open to all, and public participation is crucial to the effectiveness of the individual Neighborhood Councils.  Citizens are encouraged to address the Councils with neighborhood news, concerns, items of interest, and/or success stories.  Please plan to attend the Neighborhood Council in your area, and let the members know what’s up in the neighborhood!

Citizen Involvement

All councils invite and welcome attendance at their meetings and have set goals for increased citizen participation in 2014.  For information on meeting times and locations, please see the schedule below or call Patty Cadwell, Neighborhood Council Coordinator, at 455-8496.

Regular January Meetings

Council #1 meets Tuesday, January 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Meadowlark School library.  Agenda items include election of officers, review of bylaws, information on current Planning/Community Development activities and city trends, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #2 meets Wednesday, January 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the West Elementary School cafeteria.  Agenda items include election of officers, review of bylaws, information on current Planning/Community Development activities and city trends, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #3 meets Thursday, January 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gibson Room at the Civic Center.  Agenda items include election of officers; review of bylaws; information on local disaster preparedness planning from city, county and school district personnel;  a progress report from ADF General Manager Rooney; committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #4 meets Thursday, January 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Heritage Baptist Church, 900 52nd Street North.  Agenda items include election of officers, review of bylaws, information on current Planning/Community Development activities and city trends, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #5 meets Monday, January 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Great Falls Clinic Specialty Center, 3000 15th Avenue South.  Agenda items include election of officers, review of bylaws, information on current Planning/Community Development activities and city trends, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #5 will hold a special meeting for Neighborhood Watch recruitment Thursday, January 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Mountainview School.  Agenda items will include a free chili feed followed by speakers from local Neighborhood Watch groups, the Great Falls Police Department and students from Mountainview School.  Everyone is invited to attend to learn more about the value and purpose of Neighborhood Watch.

Council #6 will not meet in January.


Council #7 will not meet in January.

Council #8 meets Thursday, January 16 at 6:00 p.m. at the Great Falls PreRelease Women’s Annex, 1019 15th Street North.  Agenda items include election of officers, review of bylaws, information on current Planning/Community Development activities and city trends, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #9 meets Thursday, January 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Great Falls High School, South Campus, room 105.   Agenda items include election of officers, review of bylaws, information on current Planning/Community Development activities and city trends, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.
