From the Neighborhood Coordinator’s Desk

The Great Falls Neighborhood Councils will be meeting as per their fall and winter schedules. All changes in September will be noted in bold below.

Neighborhood Council meetings are open to all, and public participation is crucial to the effectiveness of the individual Neighborhood Councils. Citizens are encouraged to address the Councils with neighborhood news, concerns, items of interest, and/or success stories. Please plan to attend the Neighborhood Council in your area, and let the members know what’s up in the neighborhood!

Citizen Involvement

All councils invite and welcome attendance at their meetings and have set goals for increased citizen participation in 2012/2013. For information on meeting times and locations, please see the schedule below or email Patty Cadwell, Neighborhood Council Coordinator, or call 455-8496.

Regular September Meetings

Council #1 meets Tuesday, September 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Meadowlark School library. Agenda items include information on the City’s Growth Policy planning, an introduction from Justice of the Peace candidate Mary Jolley, and neighborhood concerns.

Council #2 meets Wednesday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the West Elementary School cafeteria. Agenda items include information on gardening plans for Community Home Park, information on airline changes and rates at the Great Falls International Airport from Board Chairman Jim Morin, an introduction from Justice of the Peace candidate Mary Jolley, and neighborhood concerns.

Council #3 meets Thursday, September 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the Riverview School multi-purpose room. Agenda items include an introduction from Justice of the Peace candidate Mary Jolley and neighborhood concerns.

Council #4 meets Thursday, September 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Montana Highway Patrol office, 812 14th Street North. Agenda items include a tour and information on the Drug Take Back operation at the Highway Patrol, an introduction from Justice of the Peace candidate Mary Jolley, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #5 meets Monday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Great Falls Clinic Specialty Center conference room, 3000 15th Avenue South. Agenda items include information on the City’s Growth Policy planning, introductions from District Court Judge candidate Greg Pinski and Justice of the Peace candidate Mary Jolley, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #6 meets Wednesday, September 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sunnyside School music room. Agenda items include introductions from District Court Judge candidate Steve Fagenstrom and Justice of the Peace candidate Mary Jolley, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #6 will hold a Special meeting Wednesday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sunnyside School library.  The purpose of this meeting is to provide residents of the Uppper/Lower River Road area information on future plans for storm water drainage control. 

Council #7 meets Monday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gibson Room at the Civic Center. Agenda items include an introduction from Justice of the Peace candidate Mary Jolley, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.

Council #8 has been cancelled due to a lack of a quorum of the members.

Council #9 meets Thursday, August 9 at 7:00 p.m. at GFHS, South Campus, room 105. Agenda items include an introduction from Justice of the Peace candidate Mary Jolley, committee reports and neighborhood concerns.
