    On Friday, June 5, 2015, as part of the Missing in America Project, a large procession of motorcycles and emergency vehicles will provide an escort for six unclaimed Military Veterans' Remains through Great Falls, with the final destination being Fort Harrison in Helena, Montana. The procession is expected to start between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m., following a ceremony which begins at 12:30 p.m. at Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory (1307 Central Avenue).

    The Great Falls Police Department (GFPD) celebrates the law enforcement career of Captain Tim Shanks. Tim has been with the department for 35 years and will be retiring at the end of May. He began his tenure with the GFPD in 1980 as a probationary patrolman and has held the positions of police officer, master police officer, detective, sergeant, lieutenant. He was promoted to captain in 2000.  The City of Great Falls wishes Tim the best in his retirement and thanks him for his service.

    The Great Falls Police Department Citizens' Academy is designed to help citizens learn how the Police Department operates and the policing challenges facing our community.  The Academy runs twice a year usually in the Spring and Fall, and consists of classroom and “hands on” training with emphasis on student involvement. The Fall 2015 Citizens' Academy is now open for applications.

    The Great Falls Police Department, along with the Customs and Border Protection Office/Air and Marine, the U.S. Marshal Service, the Cascade County Sheriff's Office, the Montana Highway Patrol are working in conjunction with one another and are currently involved in the investigation of a robbery that occurred last night at the Palace Casino. The suspect's vehicle was seen by a GFPD officer Friday morning, and was subsequently arrested  after a pursuit, in Chowen Springs Park.

She will be sworn in by Judge Nancy Luth on Monday, April 2nd, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. at the Great Falls Municipal Court located in the Civic Center. She will be presented badge 299 by Police Chief Bowen.
