    An exciting new parking program is coming to Downtown Great Falls this month. With the launch of PassportParking Mobile Pay, residents and visitors will be able to conduct parking transactions with their mobile phones.  Passport Parking, LLC is implementing a three-month pilot program starting March 14 in Downtown Great Falls.  Customers will now be able to pay for parking using their mobile phones on parking meters located on Central Avenue, between Park Drive and 7th Street.

    Nominations for the 2013 Historic Preservation Awards are being accepted now until Thursday, April 25.  Eligible projects must have been completed within the past year and should substantially meet the Department of Interior Standards for Rehabilitation. Nominations will also be considered for appropriate new construction in an historic district.

    Great Falls Fire Rescue is pleased to announce the promotions of two new chief officers. Dirk Johnson has been promoted from his role as Deputy Assistant Chief of Training and Emergency Medical Services to the post of City Fire Marshal. Bob Shupe has been promoted from the role of Captain to serve as the new Battalion Chief and shift commander at Fire Station One. Both promotions are a result of retirements which occurred over the last few months.

    The Great Falls Police Department, along with the Customs and Border Protection Office/Air and Marine, the U.S. Marshal Service, the Cascade County Sheriff's Office, the Montana Highway Patrol are working in conjunction with one another and are currently involved in the investigation of a robbery that occurred last night at the Palace Casino. The suspect's vehicle was seen by a GFPD officer Friday morning, and was subsequently arrested  after a pursuit, in Chowen Springs Park.
