Beginning May 1, the Police Department will be implementing a new patrol model called the Data Driven Approach to Crime and Traffic Safety (DDACTS). This model integrates location-based crime and traffic crash data to determine the most effective methods for deploying law enforcement and public safety resources. Areas of high incidents of crime and crashes have been identified and DDACTS zone has been established, (west to east) Park Drive to 15th Street and (north to south) 6th Avenue North to 6th Avenue South. Increased police patrol may be seen within this area, including: bike, foot and volunteer patrols. Since this area has been established as a high crime and traffic crash area citizens can expect laws and ordinances will be strictly enforced.
