Golf Advisory Board


Creation

Created by Ordinance 2648 and amended by Ordinance 2652.

Purpose

Advises the City Commission regarding the operation of municipal golf courses, specifically regarding: fees and charges, tournament requests policies, procedures, and rules; capital improvement projects; promotion; all other matters relating to the golf courses which may be requested by the City Manager or City Commission.

Membership

Five members appointed by the City Commission. Member representation is as follows: City Men's Golf Associations (1), City Women's Golf Association (1), Malmstrom Golf Association (1), non-league golfers (2).

Term

Three-year term from and after March 1 of the year in which the member is appointed.

Meeting Schedule

Meets the fourth Monday of each month at 3:30 p.m.

Residency Requirements

Members must reside within the City limits; however, for this board only, the City Attorney interpreted the residency requirement liberally allowing the Malmstrom League representative to reside on Base or live within the City boundaries (per OCCGF).
