Mission Statement

The mission of the Advisory Commission on International Relationships (ACIR) is to promote, facilitate and nurture international relationships for the City of Great Falls serving as a liaison for information and opportunities. These would relate to areas such as culture, medical, educational, or business.

Fourth Tuesday of every month; 7:00-9:00 pm in the Rainbow Room of the Civic Center.

Creation

Created by Ordinance 2788 on November 8, 2000, and revised by Ordinance 2863 on October 21, 2003.

Purpose

Provides support, coordination, and exchange of information for international programs in the community.

Membership

Nine to eleven volunteer members, appointed by the City Commission.

Term*

Staggered Three-year terms.

Residency Requirements

None stipulated.

*Resolution 9484 (pdf) stipulates: "Whereas, this Resolution will apply to all Boards and Commissions unless State Law is more restrictive…" and, "It is the policy of the City Commission…maximum uninterrupted length of service on any one Board or Committee shall be two (2) consecutive terms, exclusive of the time served on any unexpired term, for each person appointed…" and, "…all terms shall begin on the date of appointment or as specified by Ordinance."
