Creation

Ordinance 2729 in 1997. Revised by Ordinance 2813 in December 2001. Revised by Ordindance 2928 on February 21, 2006.

Purpose

Advises the City Commission and the City Manager on all matters related to the successful operation of the Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts, including use of the Theater, Convention Center, and meeting rooms as well as common areas and facility aesthetics.

Membership

Five to seven members appointed by the City Commission with an attempt to have representation from the areas of performing arts, conventions and meetings, and civic leaders.

Meeting Schedule and Location

Meets the third Friday of each month at noon. Meetings are normally held in the Rainbow Room of the Civic Center.

*Resolution 9910 (pdf) stipulates: "Whereas, this Resolution will apply to all Boards and Commissions unless State Law is more restrictive…" and, "It is the policy of the City Commission…maximum uninterrupted length of service on any one Board or Committee shall be two (2) consecutive terms, exclusive of the time served on any unexpired term, for each person appointed…" and, "…all terms shall begin on the date of appointment or as specified by Ordinance."
