Established in 2007, the Great Falls Emergency Preparedness Office plans and prepares for emergencies, educates the public about emergency preparedness, coordinates response and recovery, and distributes emergency information within the City of Great Falls, Montana. The office works alongside both local public and private organizations and state public and private organizations to prepare for the safety of the citizens in the City of Great Falls.
Our mission is to save lives, reduce property damage, and protect the environment through the coordination of comprehensive emergency management plans and planning functions.
During Citywide emergencies, the City Manager will activate the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The EOC is located at the Great Falls Police Department. The City Manager’s Office will request that representatives from certain City agencies work in the EOC until the emergency is resolved.
