The role of Human Resources is to provide the link between the services provided and the people who provide the service.

The primary responsibilities of Human Resources:

• Recruitment and selection of employees;
• Administration of benefits;
• Employee orientation;
• Policy development and interpretation;
• Maintenance of classification and compensation plan;
• Participation in the collective bargaining process;
• Coordination of training and professional development;
• Professional organizational training and development.

The City employs 460 employees and in addition, 300+ temporary employees during the busy summer months.
