Attention Water Craft Users:

For many years the Great Falls Park and Recreation Department has received numerous complaints regarding conflicts between water craft users and other use, particularly swimming at the Broadwater Bay docks.  The Park and Recreation Department, as well as other City officials, are concerned with the safety issues resulting from the multi-use of the area.   City park rules designate the boat docks as “no swimming”, however monitoring of this rule has been difficult.

Broadwater Bay is open between April through October from dawn to dusk.  Docking and picnic facilities are available.  No rentals are available.  Absolutely no swimming/diving off docks.  As a result of past problems and enforcement, the Park and Recreation department, under the approval of the City Commission recently hired Park Monitors for the Broadwater Bay area.  These individuals are responsible for:

The Park Monitor has the authority to contact law enforcement if park rules are not followed or problems occur.

To cover the costs of personnel we have implemented a launch fee of $3 per day per water craft or $35 per season per water craft which would be from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.   Seasonal launch passes will be available at the Broadwater Bay daily or at the Park and Recreation Department.
