Jumpstart After School Program

We believe after school care is so important in the lives of school age children. By extending the learning hours we are striving to improve their academic performance and give them a safe place to grow and become their best. This program is offered for ages 5-12 Monday through Friday from 2:45pm to 6:00pm. The cost is $60.00 per child per month. We do offer scholarships through CDBG if you meet the requirements. We do pick-ups at Lincoln, Riverview, Sacajawea, and Whittier. With the Jumpstart Afterschool Program there are three main objectives to our schedule and activities:
- Personal interaction: homework, computer time, quiet games with others, and snack time.
- Academic support: Al's Pals – a puppet show which helps to teach children to make healthy choices in life. Countries – learn about different countries and their cultures. Girl Scouts and Boys Will be Boys. 4-H. Library – every other week we take a trip to the library for reading. Kids Care Club – we do acts of kindness for different areas in our community. Baking, physical education, and arts and crafts are also a focus during our day.
- Free play: a child learns so much through play which is why we have supervised free play daily. The children are able to interact with each other, imagine, relax and have fun.
