NOMINATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR THE
2013 HISTORIC PRESERVATION AWARDS

Great Falls, Montana – There's a whole lot of preservation going on in the Great Falls area and the Great Falls-Cascade County Historic Preservation Advisory Commission wants to recognize the people and projects that are making it happen.

Nominations for the 2013 Historic Preservation Awards are being accepted until Thursday, April 25.  Eligible projects must have been completed within the past year and should substantially meet the Department of Interior Standards for Rehabilitation.  Those standards cover repairs and alterations which return a property to efficient contemporary use while preserving historic, architectural and cultural values.

Nominations will also be considered for appropriate new construction in an historic district, for organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to historic preservation or for craftsmen who have applied their skills to a significant preservation project.

Nomination forms are available at the Planning and Community Development Office, Room 112 of the Civic Center or online.  Completed nominations should be submitted to the Historic Preservation Office, PO Box 5021, Great Falls, MT 59403 by April 25.

"Sowing Seeds of Preservation" is the theme for the annual award reception which will be held Thursday, May 23, in the Missouri Room of the Civic Center from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
