Check Out the Library’s Laptops
Great Falls, Montana – The Great Falls Public Library is now providing laptop computers for patrons to check out. The laptops may be checked out for up to two hours for use in the library only. In order to check one out a patron must have a valid library card and a current state issued ID.
This program has been in place for about three weeks and is quite popular. “Being able to check out one of the laptops is just another way the library can provide service to its patrons. That the program caught on immediately and continues to increase in popularity tells us this is a good choice for our community,” stated library spokesperson Jude Smith.
These laptops were funded by a BTOP grant (Broadband Technology Opportunities Program), which is a federal grant designed to expand access to broadband services in the United States.
