DON’T MISS THE FINAL GROWTH POLICY OPEN HOUSE
GREAT FALLS, Montana – On Monday, April 1, at 6 p.m. the City of Great Falls will be hosting a community open house to conclude this portion of the Growth Policy Update. The one-hour open house will be held in the Missouri Room of the Civic Center (2 Park Drive S.). Residents of Great Falls and its various stakeholders are invited and encouraged to participate in the open house.
The open house is an opportunity for those that have been participating in the Growth Policy Update process to review the work to date. It is also a chance for those who have not been involved to get engaged and join the process before it wraps up. Attendees will have the opportunity to utilize keypad polling to answer questions about the City’s future. Draft policy materials will also be available for review and comment in a focus group format.
The City’s Growth Policy is an official document, formally adopted by the Commission, which helps plan for our community’s future. It recommends a set of goals, actions and strategies intended to manage development and promote the best possible future for the citizens of Great Falls. The policy serves as a tool to guide decisions about the physical, social, and economic development for our community. Public participation is a critical part of the Growth Policy update. The document, when adopted, will embody the community’s vision for the next decade and beyond.
According to Deputy City Manager Jennifer Reichelt, “The Growth Policy Update Process has provided an opportunity for residents and other stakeholders to come together and share their vision for our community’s future. We hope that those involved in the process attend the final open house to see the results of their hard work. It’s only by working together, sharing ideas and planning for the future that we will maintain and ensure a vibrant and thriving community.”
This open house is the culmination of an extensive outreach effort. If you have any questions about the upcoming open house or the Growth Policy Update Process, please contact Ida Meehan, Comprehensive Planner, at 455-8428.
