CITY OFFERS FREE METERED PARKING THE
WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS
GREAT FALLS, Montana – With only twelve days left before Christmas, residents are reminded of the importance of shopping locally and are encouraged to help support the local Great Falls business community. As always, the downtown metered parking is free on the weekends and to make this holiday season even brighter, metered parking will be free Wednesday, December 18, through Tuesday, December 24.
With over 1,000 metered spaces conveniently located within walking distance to more than a hundred downtown specialty retail shops and restaurants – there is a spot for everyone. To ensure everyone has access to parking, the two-hour maximum parking limit at all parking meters will continue to be in effect.
Lee Nellis, the City’s Deputy Planning & Community Development Director, had this to say about shopping locally this holiday season, “We are pleased to support our local Downtown community by providing free parking the week before Christmas. We encourage our residents to take advantage of the free parking and to shop, dine and visit the downtown this holiday season. Buying locally helps all of us by strengthening our local economy.”
For more information about free parking during the holidays contact Lee Nellis at 455-8432.
