The Great Falls Police Department is hosting an OPEN HOUSE for the general public on Wednesday, July 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tours of the building will be available, including the 911 Center, video firearms simulator, firing range, and police cars.
The current police department is housed in the original Chevrolet manufacturing plant for Great Falls which was built in 1929. Over the last 80 years, the building has been modified to accommodate the police department which also contains former jail cells.
Volunteers and officers will be on hand to give tours and answer questions. Tactical equipment, information on gangs and narcotics will be provided and the firearms simulator will also be activated for the hands-on experience of being a police officer. This event is free and refreshments will be served.
The public is asked to use the east garage bay for access to the facility.
