RIVER’S EDGE TRAIL CLOSURE AT WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
GREAT FALLS, Montana – The City of Great Falls has a contract with Swank Enterprises of Valier, MT, for improvements to the City wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) required to meet future permit standards. The contractor will install bypass pumping lines from an effluent basin within the WWTP to the WWTP outfall at the Missouri River between June 16, and July 10, 2014. The bypass pipes will cross the River’s Edge Trail during this time.
During the construction period (4 weeks) the north shore of the trail, three tenths of a mile west of the 9th Street Bridge, will be fenced and closed to through traffic. The contractor will provide barricades and detour signs in the area of construction to re-route traffic. For through traffic, River’s Edge Trail users will be directed to use the south shore trail system between the 9th Street Bridge and the Central Avenue West Bridge.
The public’s patience and consideration during this process is appreciated. For more information about the River’s Edge Trail closure contact Courtney Lyerly,
