CALL TO ORDER: 5:45 P.M.
PRESENT: Mayor Bennett, Commissioners Beecher, Downer, Gray, and Rosenbaum. Also present were City Manager, City Attorney, Directors of Community Development, Park & Recreation, Fiscal Control, Management Information Services, Library, Public Works, Acting Fire Chief, Police Chief, and City Clerk.
Members of from the American Cancer Society and other Smoke Free Coalitions presented testimony and requested the City Commission to consider an ordinance that would prohibit smoking in public places. The speakers included: Dr. Mark Nicholson, Dr. Richard Blevins, Liz Lee, Kay Dell Nelson, Richard Hall, Gayle Michellotti, Candy Recke, Ashley Bright, Mike Dalton, Lynn Allison and Al Recke.
The Mayor thanked them for their presentation.
There being no further business to come before the Commission, the regular work session on November 4, 1998, adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
