BROADWATER BAY BOAT LAUNCH
TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY

The boat ramp at Broadwater Bay will be closed October 16 – 30 for installation of a new ramp.  The existing thirty-three year old ramp has broken concrete planks and steel bars, and a deteriorating foundation causing an uneven surface and a potentially unsafe condition for boaters.  The ramp will be replaced with a new sub-surface, anchor wall and cable mats.  The project is being funded through a Missouri-Madison River Fund Grant.

The Broadwater Bay boat launch is used an estimated 2,200 times per year by Great Falls residents.  It is also used frequently by the Great Falls Fire Department and other emergency responders for water rescues on the Missouri and Sun Rivers.  The boat ramp replacement project will insure uninterrupted, safe boat access for recreationalists and first responders to the Missouri River from Broadwater Bay.  Minimal site disruption will be required to install the boat ramp.
