PARK FOUNDATION RECEIVES DONATION FROM CALUMET MONTANA REFINING

GREAT FALLS, Montana – The People’s Park and Recreation Foundation has received a pledged donation of $150,000 from Calumet Montana Refining, with $100,000 of it already having been received. Calumet pledged to donate to the Foundation three donations of $50,000 over three years. The donations for calendar years 2013 and 2014 have already been received. Calumet has not designated how the funds are to be used by the Foundation.

Dexter Busby, Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs with Calumet Montana Refining, had this to say about the donation, “Calumet is a committed member and partner in the Great Falls community. We feel it is important to invest and make financial contributions to those assets that are most valuable in our community – like our pools, parks and the Mansfield Performing Arts Center.”

The donation will make a significant impact in the community and fund much needed improvements and park and recreation programs throughout the year. According to Marty Basta, Park and Recreation Director, “This donation has meant a lot to both the staff in the Park and Recreation Department as well as the Foundation board. We are overwhelmed with Calumet’s generosity. The donation will benefit the entire community.”

For more information about the donation, contact the City Manager’s Office at 455-8417 or Calumet Refining at 761-4100.
