Great Falls Growth Policy

On April 26, 2005, the Cascade County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution to dissolve the Great Falls City-County Planning Board and associated jurisdictional area, effective July 1, 2005. In order to provide for continued guidance and uninterrupted planning services to the City of Great Falls on growth and development issues, the Great Falls City-County Planning Board amended the 2003 Great Falls City-County Growth Policy to more specifically reflect the needs and jurisdictional area of the City of Great Falls. Without this amended Growth Policy, the City would not be able to enforce or make changes to its zoning code. The revised Great Falls Growth Policy is based largely upon the 2003 Growth Policy with only minor editorial changes to specifically reflect the City's jurisdiction. The City Commission adopted the Growth Policy on June 21, 2005.
