City of Great Falls Montana

Great Falls Fire Rescue would like to notify residents that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of Kiddie disposable plastic fire extinguishers due to a failure to discharge. The recall involves 31 models of Kiddie disposable fire extinguishers with Zytel® black plastic valves. The recalled units were sold at Home Depot, Menards, Wal-Mart and other department, home and hardware stores nationwide and online from August 2013 through November 2014.

Cascade County and the City of Great Falls are excited to announce the implementation of the CodeRED system. CodeRED is an emergency notification service that allows emergency officials to notify residents and businesses by telephone, cell phone, text message, email and social media regarding time-sensitive general and emergency notifications. Residents are encouraged to register in the CodeRED system in order to receive emergency notifications. Registration is easy and can be done by visiting or

City Manager Greg Doyon announced the appointment of Steve Hester as the next Great Falls Fire Chief. Hester has over 37 years in fire service and has been the Great Falls Fire Rescue Assistant Chief since 2004. Hester has had an extensive career in fire service and has worked in just about every discipline in the profession. Congratulations Steve!
