    Historic Ornament for 2016

    GREAT FALLS, Montana – Once again, the City of Great Falls Planning & Community Development Department is partnering with the Great Falls/Cascade County Historic Preservation Advisory Commission (HPAC) to produce and sell the Commission’s very popular annual Christmas ornament.  This year’s ornament selection is a representation of the Cascade County Courthouse.

    The Shelter currently has about 17 dogs and 48 cats that could help you “Bring the Joy Home”.   Monday, December 12, through Saturday, December 31, Shelter pets (6 months and older) can be adopted for half price.  Dogs can be adopted for $70 and cats for $25, plus pick an ornament from our tree and receive an additional gift.

    Food Donation Box

    GREAT FALLS, Montana – The annual Canned Food Day in Municipal Court is Friday, December 2, 2016, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During this event, defendants who are making monthly payments on fines have the option of bringing in canned food in lieu of December’s payment. 

    For ten donated non-perishable food items, $50 will be credited towards total fines owed. Regardless of the number of cans brought in, the maximum amount that will be credited on Canned Food Day is $50.

       GREAT FALLS, Montana – The City of Great Falls Planning & Community Development Department is hosting a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)/ HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) Application Workshop on Thursday, December 8, at 4 p.m., in the Gibson Room of the Civic Center (2 Park Drive South).     CITY OFFICES CLOSED FOR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY

    GREAT FALLS, Montana – City offices including the Great Falls Public Library, Community Recreation Center and the Great Falls Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 24 and 25 for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The Shelter will also be closed on Saturday (11/26). There will be no sanitation collection on Thursday (11/24) and sanitation collection will be one day later than the regular schedule for customers on Thursday and Friday.

    City of Great Falls offices, including the Animal Shelter and Public Library, will be closed on Friday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day.  There will be no changes to the residential or commercial sanitation collection schedule next week. The Community Recreation Center  will be open during their regular business hours. For a full listing of activities, classes and programs call the Community Recreation Center at 727-6099. The Natatorium is holding a special open swim from 6:30-8:30 p.m., featuring the WIBIT, an aquatics obstacle course that transforms an ordinary pool into a water adventure, entertaining kids of all ages.  Cost is $5 per person.  For more information, call the Natatorium at 452-3733.
