Personalize Your Pet!

Per City Animal Ordinances all dogs and cats over the age of 4 months, must be licensed.  You may purchase a license at the Great Falls Animal Shelter or participating veterinarians within the City limits.  Please see the Shelter Fee List for current licensing fees.

Per City Ordinances a current rabies vaccination is required for all dogs, cats, ferrets, and horses over the age of 4 months.  Please see your veterinarian for the vaccination.  A City license cannot be sold without proof of the rabies vaccination.

A current registration and valid rabies certificate can be your loved one's ticket home.  When an animal is brought into the shelter, we first check to see if the animal has been micro-chipped and then we check for a license and/or rabies tag.  If your registration is current we can easily contact you and let you know your pet is currently in a safe place and awaiting his/her family.

Please see the links under Pet Owner Resources for more details and Frequently Asked Questions or call the Great Falls Animal Shelter at 406-454-2276.

On-line licensing is currently under construction.  At this time you must purchase your license at the Animal Shelter or other participating veterinarian offices.  Please check back at a later date.
