    The Confero Sports Foundation is hosting their annual fundraiser on Wednesday, May 11.   This year, the Foundation is dedicating the Mixer as fundraiser for the Multi Sports Complex to support much needed improvements to the Complex.  The softball community is partnering with the City in an effort to raise funds for Multi Sports facility improvements including replacing backstops and dugouts on fields 1 – 4 as well as infield leveling.

    Early registration for the Ice Breaker ends Saturday.  Register Monday - Friday at the Park and Recreation Office, online, or at Universal Athletic and Scheels Stores.  The last chance for early, in-person registration is Saturday, April 16, at Scheels in Holiday Village Mall.

    Anaconda Hills Golf Course will open for the season at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1.   The driving range will also open at 9:00 a.m.  Gates open at 8:30 a.m. and the pro shop opens at 8:30 a.m. to schedule tee times.  Tee times can be made two days in advance by calling either pro shop; Anaconda Hills, 761-8459 or Eagle Falls, 761-1078 (9:30 a.m. through March 31, 8:30 a.m. beginning April 1).  The course will be open daily, weather permitting.  Use of carts will be determined based on current conditions and will be evaluated on a daily basis.

    The City’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt is back again this year, thanks to Jimmy and Debbie Filipowicz of Steel Etc. The family friendly event will be held Saturday, March 26 at the south end of Gibson Park at 11 a.m. It's always fun no matter what the weather!  The Hunt will feature over 6,000 eggs filled with candy and special prizes. In addition, there will be special treats for all participants.  The Easter Bunny will be making a guest appearance so don’t forget your basket!

    The 37th Annual Ice Breaker Road Race will be held Sunday, April 24, 2016.  Join close to 4,000 runners, joggers and fitness walkers who enter the race each year.  Participants range from recreational walkers, families enjoying an outing, to serious competitive runners.  The five-mile road race offers a competitive format; and the three-mile run offers both a competitive and recreational format. Registration is Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Park and Recreation office at 1700 River Drive North. Entry fees are $14 for 10 and under, $20 for 11 and older, $58 for a family of four.

    Park and Recreation is taking team registration for men’s, women’s and coed softball leagues. Teams can register at the Park and Recreation Office, 1700 River Drive North, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. -5 p.m. Registration forms are available online. League play is scheduled to start on May 2nd.  $450 fee must accompany your registration with an additional $250 ($450 double headers) due prior to league play starting. All teams must be registered by April 22nd.

    Start the weekend out right with a special open swim scheduled for Friday, February 26th at the Natatorium.  The event will feature the Wibit, an aquatics obstacle course that transforms an ordinary pool into a water adventure, entertaining kids of all ages. Hours are 4:00-8:00pm.  Admission is $5 per person.  The Wibit is also available to rent during private parties.

    The public is invited to a Park & Recreation Master Plan Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, January 20. Two meetings will be offered, one at 3 p.m. and the other at 7 p.m. in the Missouri Room of the Civic Center (2 Park Drive South). The purpose of the Park & Recreation Master Plan is to create a clear set of objectives and provide direction for development and enhancement of the City’s parks and recreation system for the short-term, mid-term and long term. Areas of focus include parks, trails, urban forest, recreation/aquatic programs, and amenities/facilities.

    The Park and Recreation Department is holding a special open swim day on Friday, December 11th from 5-9 pm at the Morony Natatorium swimming pool featuring our newest swim feature the WIBIT. The WIBIT consists of 6 climb on water components that offers lots of fun and challenge for all ages. There are two swim times based on age; ages 6-10 open swim from 5-7 pm and ages 11-17 open swim from 7-9 pm. Cost is $5 per person.

    Eagle Falls and Anaconda Hills Golf Courses have closed for the season.  will close for the season this week. Anaconda Hills will open for Winter Golf, November 16 – December 31; followed by Eagle Falls January 4 – February 15; contingent on weather conditions.  Hours will be 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Gates will open at 11 a.m. and be locked at 3:30 p.m.  All golfers must be off the course before 3:30 p.m.

    It's the time of year to rake leaves.

    The City's Leaf Pickup Program begins Monday, October 26, and runs through through Monday, November 16. Residents within the Boulevard District area are being requested to deposit leaves on the boulevard next to the curb and not in the street gutter. For those residing within the Boulevard District, the Natural Resources Division will vacuum leaves from the boulevards. The City's Street Division will be sweeping streets in conjunction with the leaf pick-up.

    The Natatorium re-opens for the season on Tuesday, September 8, and operating hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Open swim is offered Mondays from 1-3 p.m. and Saturdays from 1-5 p.m. The Natatorium is available for exclusive rental on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Register now for swimming lessons!

    Day Monday. This weekend was the last weekend for the 2015 season. The park will reopen in the spring.
