Council of Councils and Neighborhood Council Meetings - May 23-25, 2023

Next week, Great Falls Neighborhood Council #4 will hold its monthly meeting, and the Council of Councils will host its May meeting.  Below is a brief summary of the meetings:

Great Falls Citizens Council (also known as the Council of Councils) May meeting takes place on Tuesday, May 23, at 7 pm in the Civic Center Gibson Room.  Each of the 9 Neighborhood Councils will be represented along with 2 City Commission members. Agenda items* include GFPD Update, Public Safety Levy, Long-Range Transportation Project, EPA Lead/Copper Rule Revision, Good Neighbor Day Proclamation, and council reports. Neighborhood Council #4's (NC#4) monthly meeting occurs on Thursday, May 25, at 6:30 pm at the Heritage Baptist Church, 900 52nd Street North. Want to serve on a Neighborhood Council? Filing for the 2023 Municipal Elections is now open until June 19. There are nine neighborhood council districts within the City of Great Falls. Each district council is comprised of five members elected to a two-year term during the City's general election on November 7, 2023. Candidates for the neighborhood council must be residents of their designated neighborhood district and qualified electors. All newly elected officials will take office in January 2024. No filing fees are required, but a Declaration for Nomination and Oath of Candidacy Form must be submitted to the Cascade County Election Office by June 19, 2023.

In Great Falls, there are currently 9 Neighborhood Councils. Their purpose is to serve the citizens of Great Falls by providing a direct link to City government within the neighborhoods.  Each Council is made up of 5 members who were elected by the voters in that Council area.  Website | Facebook
