Handicap Parking Sign City of Great Falls Montana

Parking spaces designated for the mobility impaired are located throughout the meter district. The meters at these spaces are painted the distinctive blue associated with the Americans with Disabilities Act standards. Vehicles parked in a metered "Handicap" parking space must display the proper license plate or handicapped placard. Handicapped citizens need not comply with the two-hour time limit, but they must pay the established and posted meter rates. On-Street:

In order to provide an adequate supply of on-street meter parking for the mobility impaired in the central business district, the City has provided some twenty-five handicap parking spaces. Normally there is one metered handicap stall on each side of the street or avenue within the core of the Meter District. These spaces have blue painted meters and an international handicap sign attached to the meter pole.

Off-Street:

All City owned off-street parking facilities meet the Americans with Disabilities Act Federal regulation standards. The standards establish a minimum number of parking spaces to be designated for mobility impaired persons.
