Notice of Public Hearing for 2023 Annual Action Plan

Notice is hereby given that the City Commission of the City of Great Falls will conduct a Public Hearing for the City’s proposed 2023 Annual Action Plan for HUD-funded programs, on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 7:00 PM in the City Commission Chambers, Room 206, Civic Center Building, 2 Park Drive South, Great Falls, Montana.

The City of Great Falls is an entitlement recipient of federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), which are designed to benefit low and moderate income persons. In order to receive these funds, the City must adopt an Annual Action Plan for Program Year 2023.  The draft 2023 Annual Action Plan outlines proposed activity allocations for the next year in order to achieve the City’s overall goals and objectives outlined in the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan.  The City of Great Falls expects its federal allocation for Program Year 2023 to be $782,543 for CDBG funds and $299,318 for HOME funds.

Documents pertaining to this agenda item will be posted on the City’s website at https://greatfallsmt.net/meetings, and are on file for public inspection during regular office hours at the City Clerk’s Office, 2 Park Drive South, Room 204, Great Falls, MT, or contact us at (406) 455-8451/455-8479. 

Any interested person may appear and comment for or against said proposed activity allocations and use of funds or submit in writing any comments to the City Clerk prior to or during the Commission Meeting.  This hearing is not meant to be a format for agencies to discuss or promote their individual grant applications.

Low and moderate income people, minorities, and single heads of households are urged to attend.  Handicap access is available on the north side of the building.

Box 5021, Great Falls, MT, 59403; or, 2 Park Drive South, Room 204, Great Falls, MT, 59401. Comments may be sent via email before 12:00 PM on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, to: commission@greatfallsmt.net. Include the agenda item or agenda item number in the subject line, and include the name of the commenter and either an address or whether the commenter is a city resident. Written communication received by that time will be shared with the City Commission and appropriate City staff for consideration during the agenda item and before final vote on the matter, and will be so noted in the official record of the meeting.
